HERE AND NOW. Shawn Malcolm was looking forward to the send half and the possibility of adding to his tally after opening the scoring in his team’s (Lauderhill Lions) 5-0 demolition of Melrose Strikers FC in last Saturday’s ‘super duper’ encounter of the Caribbean American Soccer Association (CASA) tournament being played at the Lauderhill Sports Complex, Fort Lauderdale.

The win allows the defending champions Lauderhill Lions (3-1, 9  points), to keep pace with league leaders and former champions Fort Lauderdale Blazers (5-0, 15 points), which scored at random against the winless Plantation Futballers (0-4), for a similar 5:0 score line.

Unbeaten FC Steelers (4-0, 12 points), so far the surprise team of the 2-month old season, could add to the intrigue when they take on Academy FC ( 0-2), another of the cellar dwellers, in the only midweek schedule, today (Wednesday), at 7.45 pm.

On Saturday (3/19), Miami United v Academy and Team Haiti against Lauderhill Juniors, round out this week’s ‘super’ league fixture. In the ‘master’s division, Lauderdale FC v Lauderdale Lions, is the only game scheduled for this Saturday, at 4.30 pm.
