Super League champions Lauderhill Lions will lead a parade of 20 teams that will participate in the 2016 season of the Caribbean American Soccer Association (CASA), in Fort Lauderdale.
Kick-off is set for Saturday, January 23, at 6:00 pm, at the Lauderhill Sports Complex, on West Oakland Park Blvd, and according to league officials, there is the promise of another exciting and competitive season as the teams go in search of the prized hardware in the Masters’ and Open divisions.
Following the opening ceremony, Lauderhill Juniors (U-20), the 2015 Champions of the CASA / Lauderhill Youth Classic, will line up against a selection from the Chivas Florida Futbol Academy/U-19, and at 8:30 pm, Lauderhill Lions FC, the CASA Super League 2015 Champion, will engage Plantation FC, the CASA / Unifest 2015 Champion, in what could be a preview of the 2016 season finale. Case in point. These two teams have finished in the top 3 for the past three seasons.
In addition to soccer, come see Netball Youth Sports Association – NYSA playing Netball at its very best! The event would never be complete without some great domino competition. This promises to be another exciting season which will feature teams vying for the 2016 CASA Super and Masters League titles with a Netball and Domino tournament included.
League director Richard Campbell said that last year’s final three exciting events provided many positive highlights and this year should be even more spectacular. “CASA, NYSA and sponsors expect a high level of competition in the tournaments, which will result in scholarships and leadership skills that will assist individuals as they move forward through life”, he said.
All matches will be played at the stadium for the duration of the season, which ends in June.
